As the name implies, the place has a strong connection with art. Atelier means a room or studio where creativity and art are in focus, offered here by us in the form of food, drinks, atmosphere and good hospitality. Our wish is to give our guests a good dining experience while feeling comfortable in the privacy of the environment. The first stones in the building were laid in the late 18th century. For the last thirty years, the artist Hilmi Tafa has built his life and created his work in Atelier (name was chose in his honor). His creations are found everywhere around the space.
It is located in the middle of the city’s busiest and historical street in Shkodër. As you enter the wooden gate you will be welcomed with a beautiful garden, giving you an idea of how Albanians like spending o time while relaxing. The stone walls that testify to the history of the city, create the right privacy. While eating “al fresco” under the light of summer stars, reminiscent of the beautiful Mediterranean climate and culture. Today we introduce it as a restaurant and small boutique hotel.
At Atelier, the art on dishes is created by our chef, where his experience is reflected in the fusion of contemporary and Albanian cuisine, coming to your tables with different colors and aromas. Following the season, we are supplied with local ingredients and every day we offer special daily menus. We are proud that by preserving the identity of the place, we have transformed the premises into the perfect place to eat with your loved ones.
Directions & Parking
It is very easy to get to us as most likely you will be dropped close to Mother Theresa square. Atelier will be spotted while walking from the Mother Theresa square towards the Municipality building. As soon as you see a 3-store building shop Waikiki, you must turn left to an alleyway between the Waikiki and Manifatura and you will be greeted by a beautiful wooden carved door.
Due to the historic nature of the building, we do not have parking inside the property. Instead, you can park your car at the closest street (1 min walk). Or you could park it in private parking (4 min walk from the hotel).
Sightseeing around
Right in the city centre it is located in the most popular old street in the city. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the old town and the interline buses. It is adjacent to Manifatura, best pizza and cocktail place in town. Walking 5 minutes from there, you can reach the MARUBI photography museum, a must-see attraction.
